Since you have been brought back to true life with Christ, you must look for the things that are in heaven, where Christ is, sitting at God’s right hand. (Col 3:1)

Dear Parishioners and Friends,

I wish you all a Happy and a Blessed Easter. The Lord whom we believe is not dead, he is risen and alive, He is Jesus Christ, our Saviour and Our Lord, Alleluia!

We are blessed once again to celebrate the joy of Easter, the glorious resurrection of Jesus who was betrayed, tortured, suffered and died for us and for our sins, so that we could live in peace with the Lord sharing in His eternal glory and the joy of Heaven. We are Christians today because of the resurrection of Christ, His victory over sin and death. St. Paul in his First letter to the Corinthians 15:14 says it clearly, “And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain, and your faith is in vain”. In other words, the resurrection of Christ is the basis for our faith, our freedom, the life that we enjoy and the promise of our own resurrection and eternal life.

As we celebrate Easter this year in 2025, these days we hear so much about death, loss of life, murders and killings; People dying of sickness, old age, war, violence, abortion, mercy killing, natural disaster and the list goes on. St. John says in the gospel Jn 10:10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly”. As He said, Jesus was born as human, so that we may live as liberated and free humans. He suffered and died for us so that we may live in freedom and peace. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (Jn 3:16).

Every year when we celebrate Easter, the resurrection of Jesus, we are being reminded of the Promise of Jesus, “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly”. Our God who is full of mercy and compassion, shows us his love, mercy and compassion and gives us time and opportunities so that we may make our life and the life of others better, and we all live in peace and harmony as brothers and siters in Christ living our life to the full and doing things that please God. If we are failing to live our life to the full or if we are not letting others live their life to the full or if we are causing others suffer and die or lose their life, peace and freedom by any means, then we are making the sacrifice of Jesus meaningless and we are failing to be and to become the kind of people that Jesus wants us to be and failing to live the kind of life that Jesus wants us to live.

Before ascending to Heaven and going back to His Father, Jesus prayed for all of us. “That they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me” (Jn 17:21-23).

As we are celebrating Jesus’ resurrection, His victory of sins and death, as Easter Christians, as People who have been renewed and transformed by the grace of Easter, may we continue to live as Easter People being faithful to our calling to be the people who live our life to the full as Jesus wants us to live and helping our brothers and sister too so that they may also experience the same grace and blessings of Easter and live their live to the full, free from all kinds of evils and dangers that are threating the free and peaceful existence of humans in this beautiful planet.

Wishing you all a Happy and Blessed Easter. Alleluia, Alleluia!
